Sexual Health Consultations

Sexual Health Consultations are a free service designed to provide students the answers to their questions about their sexual health needs. Students will be given information about both on and off-campus resources that can equip them to engage in safer sex practices.

Do you have questions about your sexual health? You can schedule an appointment for a one-on-one consultation with a member of the the Wellness and Prevention Services' team! Drop by our office to make an appointment and a Wellness Coordinator will contact you directly. Consultations are 30-45 minutes and can include the following topics:

  • Birth Control and Contraceptive Options
  • Healthy Relationships and Consent
  • Pregnancy Concerns
  • Safer Sex Supplies
  • Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) or STI Testing

The Condom Fairy

This service provides FREE sexual health barriers for all students at Appalachian State University. Barriers include a variety of male/external condoms, female/internal condoms, dental dams, and lubricants. Requests are filled within 2 business days.

Individuals should click here to submit a request form for personal use.

SEXplanations (50-60 min.)

This presentation provides information about the importance of sexual health and safer sex practices. Facilitated by members of WE CAN, students will have the opportunity to participate in a number of activities involving risks associated with sexual activities, barrier methods, and barrier negotiation skills with a partner(s) and sexual health resources available on and off-campus.

If you wish to schedule this program, please fill out the Wellness Educator Presentation Form available via AppSync. To successfully schedule a program, the request form must be completed 2 weeks prior to the desired event date.

Take Control of Your Birth Control (50-60 min.)

This presentation provides information about various birth control options as a means prevent unintended pregnancy. Facilitated by members of WE CAN, students will have the opportunity to participate in a number of activities involving information about how birth control works, various birth control methods, and how they can access them.
