Koru Mindfulness
What is Koru Mindfulness?
Koru Mindfulness is a 4-week course where participants learn mindfulness and meditation skills. Through this curriculum taught by certified Koru Mindfulness instructors, you may experience less stress, better sleep, increased focus and less self-judgement. Attendance at all four sessions is required. Classes are limited to 12 students and registration is on a first-come, first served basis. Once you register, expect an email one or two days before class begins with further instructions and room number.

Spring classes held in-person will have the ability to transfer to Zoom if necessary due to weather or COVID-19 restrictions. Once you register, expect an email one or two days before class begins with further instructions on where class will be held. Attendance at all four classes is expected.

Spring 2022 Mindfulness Retreat
Join us on Sunday March 20th for a 4 hour silent meditation retreat. You'll be guided through several different kinds of meditations, including breath awareness, walking and eating meditation. The retreat also features a restorative, relaxing yoga session. Come experience the calming effect that being in silence together can bring.
Space is limited and registration is required.
When: March 20th, 1pm - 5pm
Where: Mt. Mitchell Group Fitness Room (3rd Floor Plemmons Student Union)
Koru 2.0 Class
Anyone who has completed a Koru class is invited to attend a Koru 2.0 class. Koru 2.0 is the next level of Koru. You will learn a few more meditation skills and deepen your practice in community with other students, faculty and staff looking to make meditation a larger part of their lives. Registration for Koru 2.0 is by invite only. All students, faculty and staff who have completed a Koru class while at App State will receive an email with the registration link, so make sure you are checking your email. If you completed Koru at another institution, or did not receive an invite when you believe you should have, please email Elisabeth Cavallaro (cavallaroe@appstate.edu) with when you completed Koru, where you completed it (if not at App State) and the name of your instructor (if you have trouble remembering, send the information you can remember).
