National Nutrition Month Challenge 

If you complete the challenge first you will win a $25 dining gift card, a UREC voucher for 4 personal training sessions, and swag from WPS like water bottles, lunch boxes, and salad bowls!

If you complete the challenge first each week you will win a $10 dining gift card swag from the bookstore and nutrition swag from WPS!

If you have a meal plan:

  • This is a challenge where Students will make overnight oats, yogurt jars, and salad jars over the course of 3 weeks in March. The dining hall will provide these ingredients and containers on the upper side (River Street Cafe) just inside the swipe in area.
    • March 6-10th - Send us pictures of your overnight oats,  a serving of a vegetable, and describe one type of physical activity you did this week.
    • March 20-25th- Send us pictures of your yogurt bowls in a jar, a serving of a fruit, describe one type of physical activity you did this week.
    • March 27th-31st- Send us pictures of your salad in a jar, a serving whole grain, describe one type of physical activity you did this week.
If you do not have a meal plan:
 
  • This is a challenge where we will provide mason jars to students to make overnight oats, yogurt jars, and salad jars over the course of 3 weeks in March. To pick up your jars, please come to Wellness and Prevention (First floor of Miles Annas, behind the student union) during normal business hours.

AppEats

The App Eats interactive cookbook was created by students at Appalachian State students who understand the barriers of having no time, money, or experience in the kitchen. Dining Hall Tours

Request a dining hall tour with Sheridan Northcutt, the graduate assistant, and learn how to navigate each station, build a well-rounded plate, and about the nutritents in the different food options.

Student Blue Eat Well Program

With Student Blue insurance you can enroll in the Eat Well program and get $40 a month loaded onto a MVP card for fresh or frozen produce. Enrollment (opens in a new tab) is open September through November 2022.

Nutrition Consultations and Nutrition Counseling

These consultations address a multitude of nutrition concerns, including developing a meal plan, learning to deal with dietary restrictions, metabolic concerns, and many more.
