The Appalachian Wellness Summit is now P.E.A.K.S! 

Registration for conference attendance and proposal submission ended Friday, February 22nd, at 5:00 pm.

P.E.A.K.S (Peer Educators Advancing Knowledge and Strategies), is an opportunity for peer educators to educate one another regarding the impact and outcomes of educational opportunities they facilitate at their home institutions. Although other leadership and professional development opportunities exist for peer educators, they are not always cost effective. As such, the professional staff of Wellness and Prevention Services has explored other means to meet the professional development needs and desires of their peer educators. P.E.A.K.S represents an attempt to facilitate the growth and development of peer educators while stimulating collaboration between universities nearby. 

Date: Saturday, March 16th, 2019
Time: 9:15 am - 3:00 pm
Location: Appalachian State University

In addition to general attendance, we invite peer educators to submit a proposal for oral presentation. Guidelines for proposal development can be found at the submission site below. Advisers from participating institutions will be invited to serve as blind reviewers of submitted proposals. We hope to have nine of these oral presentations; presenters will be given a 50-minute block of time, including the presentation and a question/answer period. A final schedule will be disseminated once all presentations have been reviewed and solidified. Our current intent is to begin the day of the conference with check-in and orientation to the meeting space on campus, starting at 9:15 am. Lunch will be provided by Appalachian State. 

**Please note, we have the capacity to support up to 6 total registrants from an institution.  We encourage registration of up to five peer educators and one adviser.**
