The purpose of Celebrate EveryBODY Week is to raise awareness about  body image concerns and disordered eating at Appalachian State University by providing opportunities for self-actualization, self-worth, and self-love. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss the correlation between media and body image while providing information about on-campus resources.  Celebrate EveryBODY Week Partners include: Partners: Advocates Promoting Positive Self Image (APPSI), Expressive Arts Therapy, Wellness Educators for Change, Advocacy and student Needs (WE CAN), University Housing, and University Recreation (UREC).  Contact Saray Smalls, Student Wellness Coordinator,  at smallsts@appstate.edu for questions about the events below.

Monday February 19th

  • Model Call (RSVP Here
    • Get the model experience! Come out by yourself or with friends and take body positive photos with Wellness and Prevention's resident photographers. We will have props and backdrops, so dress fancy, fun, or full on casual to celebrate your body and EveryBODY! Photos can, with your permission, be put up across the union and social media to promote the week!

  • Care for Yosef 
    • Look out for Wellness Educators in Belk Library at 5:30pm for some brain food!

Tuesday February 20th

  • Hands On Healthy Snacks - (RSVP Here)
    • Join Wellness and Prevention Services and make some simple, easy recipes that let you get your hands dirty! All of these no-cook recipes will be from the APPEATS Cookbook made for students, by students. This event is FREE and includes FOOD and MUSIC, so sign up ASAP and join the party! Recipes will take place at stations. Participants are more than welcome to stay for each recipe:
      • Homemade Fresh Salsa
      • Power Balls
      • Chocolate Peanut Butter Yogurt Spread
      • Banana Nicecream

    • Time: 4:00pm-7:00pm
    • Location: Living and Learning Center - Great Hall 

Wednesday February 21st 

  • Trivia Night (RSVP Here
    • Come hangout and compete for prizes! Trivia rounds will  include music, visual, and 3 mystery rounds. Bring a team or join a team upon arrival. Teams are limited to 8 people.
    • Time: 7pm - 9pm 
    • Location: PSU Whitewater Cafe 

Thursday February 22nd

  • Positive Post-It Day
    • Stop by the student union for a Positive Post-It Note. 
    • Time: All Day
    • Location: Plemmons Student Union 


  • Group Fitness Classes
    • Block your stress away through a heart-pumping cardio workout! These workouts will make you feel stronger and ready to take on the world.Gear up and bring a friend to one of the fitness classes listed below! All classes are blackout themed! 
      • Cycling Classes: 5:30pm, 6:15pm, 7:00pm
      • Bootcamp Classes: 5:45pm, 7:45pm 
    • Location: The Quinn Recreation Center

Friday February 23rd 

  • Express Yosef Open Studio
    • Join us in a supportive, artistic environment as we explore our thoughts and feelings through the art of words as we celebrate the body! Participants will have the opportunity to explore body image through journaling, movement, and meditation. 
    • Time: 12pm - 1:30pm
    • Location: Reich College of Education Rm. 301
