Concurrent Sessions - Part III

Combating Rape Culture: A Guide to Activism is a presentation that summarizes rape culture and provides explanation of how it is perpetuated.  Students will have the opportunity to discuss sexism, patriarchy, privilege and gender roles, ways to dismantle rape myths, and activities to combat rape culture.

Move More: Eat Better is a presentation that provides information about the importance of being physically active. Students will have the opportunity to participate in a number of activities that will educate them about exercise guidelines, daily nutrition recommendations,and how to include wellness in their weekly schedules. Participants will also learn about on-campus physical activity and nutrition resources that are available to them. 

Presenters: Roy Dale Cox and Latanya Gordon, Wellness Educators 

 

Take Ten is a presentation that provides education regarding meditation techniques, mindfulness skills, and Koru Mindfulness classes. Students will have the opportunity to practice meditation and engage in group discussion, in order to help them understand how meditation can be used as a stress management tool.
